One Little Monkey...

...jumping on the bed, she fell down and bumped her head...And off to the ER she went with Daddy. Crying hysterically, and understandably shaken. Actually, she was jumping off our chaise, which is adjacent to the fireplace, lost her balance, fell backwards in to said fireplace and ended up with a 2 inch laceration and 5 staples. She hit the back of her head on the ledge of the fireplace. I was a mere 10 feet away in the kitchen unloading the dishwasher. From the time I heard her hit her head, (since I didn't actually witness it) to the time it took me to put up the armload of glasses away (10 seconds) she had blood trickling down her back to her legs in a steady stream. It was horrible! Head injuries bleed so much and with her screaming and flailing about, it splashed everywhere. Thankfully she didn't lose consciousness. It was a relief to see that she would survive! However, no more monkeys jumping on anything please!
